Made our way from Anchor Point Sunday morning to Soldotna,
arriving early afternoon at the Edgewater RV. The park is alongside the Kenai River, and is a very active river for fishing. Bank fishing is popular.
The catching had slowed before we got here. Lots of glacier melt was causing the river to be muddy and turbulent.
The visitors center has a sculptor of Les with his record 97 pound King Salmon!
Took a side trip to the town of Kenai, an old town with much history of the peninsula.
Nice park with some relocated buildings including the Scandinavian House.
Obviously the Scandinavians must have had something to contribute to the Kenai area!
Nice end to the day…
Off to Portage!
I would love it if Les could share his salmon with me. HAHA Love salmon
